    antiriddle.com

i stumbled upon this gadget of torture today. it is an incredible riddle that requires basic knowledge of the web and web tools to solve it. it walks you through the basic knowledge you need to get started and then let’s you loose in a mind altering world. i’m stuck in this thing, and bad. i suck at riddles so this is unbearable. i whole-heartedly support the purpose of this site:

The goal of the Antiriddle project is to not only entertain those that enjoy intellectual challenges, but also to teach a certain degree of computer literacy and to foster a sense of cooperation in solving an issue.

this is incredible. i hold that all internet users should be familiar with the skills required to play this game. and what better way to teach it. this not only teaches computer skills but just plain problem solving skills. too many people will get stuck and turn around. there is a lot of bad design and functionality on the web and if you bail out whenever there’s a hitch you could be missing something very cool. i love that this combines the intellectual with the mechanical of the web. very cool. i will now get back to not working and staring at a picture of a sink. local weather? what?

Haha, I tried playing this but I did bail pretty soon after. Maybe I should give it another shot. Have you beat it?

Hey, if you like antiriddle you should definately check out metariddle, it’s kinda the same but slightly more geeky.

i agree, metariddle seems like an almost exact replica. i haven’t gotten into it but so far 1 to 1 like anon said. i am intrigued by the “slightly more geeky” comment though. i shall try it. it’s not like i’m getting anywhere on antiriddle right now.
