    2001 Subaru Sport Wagon

Ok so on Saturday I said goodbye to my good buddy Suzuki Sidekick.  It served me well for many years(and about 120,000 miles!) but it was nearing the end.  It became a chore and a stress every morning as I took it out on the road, hoping nothing would stop working.  So before bad became broken, we traded it in.

Enter the 2001 Subaru Impreza Sport Wagon.  This zippy little 5 speed has AWD and a little doink on the hood to make it look sporty. It is a very spacious car and has alot of power, TONS of power compared to Suzi Sidekick.  I can pass without thinking about it now.  It is in very good condition and is a delight to drive.  Given the “i can drive on any road” nature of this vehicle this will probably become Katie’s primary car, as she has a commute to Monument four days a week now and winter is fast approaching.  It’s great now to have two relatively new and very good quality cars now.  We’re now outfitted well for the cold months ahead.  However our armada has been reduced to the dynamic colors of Tan and White, but hey they’re great, reliable cars and you can’t beat that with a bat uh!

Now on to referrals.  MonumentMotors.com(but PalmerLakeMotors.com is their old name and still their URL) is the dealer we bought this car from. This was the best car buying experience I could ever have imagined.  Their sales dept.  is almost non-existent.  No pressure no hassle, it was very casual.  They specialize in Subarus so about 99.8% of their inventory is Subaru.  They have a deal with a guy in Denver who salvages and refurbishes damaged vehicles.  Ours had only a fender bender in the front passenger side so theyre not that bad.  The dealership is now owned and operated by a guy and his sister(their dad started the whole thing). He was the nicest guy and very informative.  They handled everything very well and gave us good breaks.  This guy knows about everything there is to know about Subaru cars.  It’s amazing, and his passion is evident.  Also a cool thing is their referrals.  We were suggested this place by my brother-in-law and his wife who bought an Outback a while back.  We told the dealer this and they gave us a $100 check to give to them personally.  That was very cool.  So if you need a Subaru, don’t forget to mention me ;).  Also the vehicles come with a 1 year full warranty so we can get almost everything fixed for free for a while.  Pretty nice to know.  So, highly recommended: MonumentMotors.com.

    Dear Suzuki Sidekick,

You served me well through many trials.  You did not complain when we drove from Falcon to Woodland Park every day for a few months.  You did not grumble when we drove from one end of the city to the other, sometimes multiple times in a day.  We went to Durango together, up into the mountains, through all manner of weather, and you did very well.  Only a few times did you break, frustrating but understandable.  And as your age and miles wore on, they took their toll. Finally it came time to say goodbye.  So, so long Suzuki Sidekick.  You will be missed.  (but not that much)
