Every once in a while I need to know what time it is in another part of the country(USA). Now, I know in general what the differences between the time zones are but I always question myself. I always hit google and am always surprised at the lackluster results I find. All the best sites for seeing the times in all US time zones are content heavy and hard to look at. What I wanted is something I could easily just glance at and instantly know what time it was in a different time zone. Thus I began this project: What Time is it There

Using some simple javascript and an Eric Carle inspired map I created a bright and simple visual reference that tells me swiftly what time it is in all US time zones. I’ve already found it to be incredibly useful to myself and I’m hoping to add a few features soon.
The code is a little janky right now. The 12:00am/pm display is a little shaky, but it works for my purposes. The feature I’m looking to develop next is the ability to change the time. Its all well and good to know what time it is right now in other time zones but what if I need to know what time I need to get up for a 9am EST meeting? I’d like to be able to easily put that in and then see the relative times across all time zones. And then of course I’d like to extend it internationally but that’s a whole can of worms.
If anyone who’s well versed in Javascript would like to help out I’d be happy to collaborate on this. I’d also like to give this project its own domain but my recreational domain purchase budget is wiped out so if anyone wants to donate that’d be great. :)
